Molinari Rail AG established a partnership with the Spanish company Joca, to design and build the first electric railway system in Bolivia. The turnkey project spreads over three years and has a worth of 385 million Euros.

12 train sets with a maximum speed of 80 km/h will travel on the new transport network. Each composition consists of 5 segments has a capacity of 200-300 passengers and will operate on the transport network, which will be used by approx. 70’000 commuters per year.

Furthermore, Molinari Rail is also involved in the project Bioceanico, the Panama Canal on rail from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean- from Brazil, via Bolivia to Peru. Michele Molinari joined a delegation headed by Evo Morales to Europe in December to further consultations with the Swiss President and the Swiss railway industry.
