Support for Electrification
Usually railway construction machines are driven by means of a diesel-hydraulic drive chain. The aim of Plasser & Theurer was to significantly reduce or even avoid exhaust and noise emissions from electrification.
Since 2014, Molinari Rail has been supporting Plasser & Theurer in conception, planning and commissioning of the traction systems fed from the catenary in close and successful cooperation. For example, two track tamping machines for Francesco Ventura and RFI in Italy were equipped with a dual system for 25kV AC and 3kV DC and successfully put into operation.
