Autonomous Power Pack Solution for Reefer Containers
The rCE-Powerpack, developed by the Swiss logistics company railCare AG, takes the transport of perishable goods by rail to a new level and ensures uninterrupted refrigeration or fresh preservation in the food and wholesale industry.
The Molinari Rail Group, together with the Swiss railCare AG and the German VTG AG, has installed an rCE powerpack in a freight wagon transporting refrigerated containers in Europe. The modular axle generator system supplies the reefer container wagon with kinetic energy generated during the journey, replacing costly fuel or the inflexible train busbar.
Freight forwarders and logistics companies can find out from VTG and railCare to what extent they can use the ecological system to realise new services for their customers, which will be implemented by Molinari Rail in new and existing wagons.
