Inauguration of the “Tren Metropolitano de Cochabamba”

With joy and pride we announce today: The “Tren Metropolitano de Cochabamba” goes into operation! The new light rail system in Cochabamba, Bolivia, was inaugurated the day before yesterday with the red and green line by President Luis Arce.

At the inauguration, Michele Molinari handed President Luis Arce his train driver’s kit and the first RFID card. Shortly afterwards, the population stormed the trains and visibly enjoyed the first rides on Bolivia’s first rail-based transport system.

With the tram system built by Molinari Rail and consortium partner Urbas Group, both the city with over 600,000 inhabitants and the entire region are getting an environmentally friendly mobility option that connects people and links the local economy.
