Nightjet conversion: European flagship project
Molinari Rail GmbH, Vienna, Austrian subsidiary of Molinari Rail Group, was commissioned by ÖBB Personenverkehr AG to convert existing passenger coaches into modern multi-function couchette cars.
As general contractor, Molinari Rail took over the entire project handling from development, adaptation of the donor vehicles to production, equipping and approval of the new vehicle types in accordance with the 4th railway package (4. Eisenbahnpaket).
The first call-off from the framework contract comprises 22 vehicles and is part of the expansion of the Nightjet fleet.
